Living in New York city, London, Iowa, Philadelphia, and New Zealand as I grew up gave me a very broad range of cultural and design influences. Having talented parents who taught me from home and a father who worked in almost all of the building trades and allowed me to get my hands dirty from a young age enabled me to take advantage of the influences around me. Through the years I have dabbled in engineering, architecture, physics, all in applied forms, and all to serve the purpose of whatever was my current design project.

13 years at a small cabinet shop gave me access to all steps of the custom residential industry and allowed me to see the shortfalls in the typical processes that often left homeowners disappointed and contractors frustrated. Using my creativity and experience I use sketches, photos, and discussions to try to distill the key priorities of the project and then serve as an advocate for my clients to help accomplish these priorities in a timely and budget friendly manner. In addition to an increased level of finished quality, my involvement is also positioned in such a way as to increase overall project efficiency and thus save cost. By understanding the key priorities of a project, extra steps can sometimes be avoided.
